Do I Look Like I Like This?

Seriously?

My Mom did this to me.  Yeah, I get it ~ I was adopted from the Oregon Humane Society and this is my Dad's Oregon Humane Society baseball hat. Symbolism, yeah, I get it. But seriously, I'm not a doll or small child and I don't really like dress-up. But don't tell Mom, since she's the one who buys the treats!

Zoey Driving

Driving Tip #1: Always look over your left shoulder when backing up - there are blind spots in these big trucks. If you dent the truck, then your family will know you've been out joy-riding for dog biscuits & treats!

My Favorite Place to Sleep

I don't think Mom & Dad know, but when they leave me here by myself, I curl-up in their bed and sleep. Not that I don't have other places to sleep (my bed, the couch, under the table), but this is the best!

It Wasn't My Fault

So yesterday we went on a long walk along the beach. Now I have shared that I’m perpetually grounded from being off-leash due to a squirrel/running-across-the-road-while-traffic-was-coming incident a few months back. However, for some reason I am allowed to be off-leash while at the beach. (Probably because Dad doesn’t want me to pull him into the surf when I retrieve those endless sticks for him.)

So there I was: running into the water, getting the stick, returning it to Dad. Mom was walking along too, motivating me with praise when I brought the stick back. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a bunch of birds caught my eye, and off I went. Now, did they fly over the ocean, knowing that I won’t swim? No, they flew farther and farther down the beach, and I had (yes, HAD) to chase them at full speed. I thought I heard things like “Zoey, come!” and “Zoey leave it!” and “Zoey, no!”, but I can’t be sure. Needles to say, when I finally returned to Mom & Dad (and for some reason I did not get a treat for “coming” like I often do), I was put on leash! It was embarrassing to have to walk back (and we walked a looong way) on-leash while other dogs were not on leash!

Moral of the story: Don’t trust birds!

If Only Dogs Could Drive......

I think I'd be a good driver. Until, of course, I saw a squirrel ~ that could be trouble!

Sometimes I Think I'm a Cat

I have pretty good balance, I keep myself clean, and I pounce on things. But....I'm really smart, so I must be a dog! :-)

A Sunny Day........

Well, I went back to the dog park this morning to see if I could make a new friend or two,  but no one was there ~ again! After romping, smelling, and chasing a stick my Dad kept dropping, we went back to the rig and I laid in the sun.  People keep wondering, "Why do dogs always lie at the very end of the leash?"  My answer, "I haven't a clue."

Off Leash Again!

Well, I didn't meet any other dogs at the Stub Stewart State Park off -leash dog area today, but I still had fun!

Off Leash!

Here at Stub Stewart State Park, there’s an off-leash dog park! I love fully-fenced off-leash parks! See, I lost all off-leash privileges a while back (long story, but it involves a squirrel, running away without a care in the world, ignoring words like “no”, “come” “leave it”, and well, yeah, now I’m grounded – for life), so I always enjoy when Mom & Dad make an extra effort to bring me places where I can run wild and free. (Well, as far as the fence.) There weren’t any other dogs here, but they promised we’ll come back tomorrow. I’ll let you know if I meet anyone – I could use a new friend!

Keeping Warm by the Fire

When the sun goes down and I can’t find a sunbeam to warm me, I like to snuggle close to the campfire.

S’mores anyone? (My recipe: dog cookie, peanut butter, meat, dog cookie – YUM!)

I went for a Hike!

There I was sleeping comfortably in the rig…when my parents decided to take me on a hike on the Hoodsport Trail. Don’t they realize I’m perfectly fine staying alone in the rig? I went and was glad I did because there were tons of cool smells. I even got to lead the hike. I’m tired though…as soon as I post this I’m resuming my nap.
